The
Girls on the Run curriculum is based on experiential learning activities designed
to teach participants about topics related to self-respect and healthy living.

- Afterwards,
cool-down stretching is then combined with participant asked and answered questions.
- Each session
closes with a snack and positive words form the girl's coach regarding individual
and group behaviors.

The
three-part curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches:
- Part
1: Understanding Yourself And Setting Personal Goals.
- Part
2: Learning Skills To Get Along In A Group.
- Part
3: Examining Their Responsibility To The Community.

Girls
on the Run sessions are held over a 12 week period in the Fall and Spring. The
program meets two days a week for one hour after school, with a maximum of 14
participants. All
girls ages 8-12 are encouraged to join the program regardless of previous running
experience and level of physical fitness. | |
